I’m sharing something short and personal today, outside the usual rhythm of this space.
My mother, Celestine Dennis Forrest, passed away on Saturday, August 1st. I’ve been anticipating this for weeks, and right now I’m mostly just numb — the part where it hasn’t fully landed yet.
I won’t turn this post into her obituary — that’s already been written, with more care than I knew I had left in me some days. What I want to say here is simply: thank you. This space has never been just about the logistics of caregiving — it’s been about not doing this alone, and you made sure I never was.
The pivot I mentioned last month — toward planning, preparing, and aging with grace — feels even more front and center now.
Grateful for every one of you walking this with me.
